2,040 miles from UT to PA and this is how the trip went...
Drove through WY... never want to live in WY, it's ugly! Stopped at 11pm in Nebraska to find a hotel. Tried 9 different hotels to find a room. Drove through a 1 hour lightning storm and 1/2 mile wide Tornado warning to get to a hole in the wall hotel (reminded me of Justins Grampas place in southern utah... thought of all of you). Continued driving the next morning, realized when we got to Iowa that i left my $50 memory foam (new, I might add) pillow at the hole in the wall hotel in Nebraska. Decided not to turn around an get it. Got to Winter Quarters, saw the temple, saw the one grave stone left from the pioneers, took a bunch of pictures, and traveled to Nauvoo, IL. Nauvoo was hot and sticky. When through the temple, listened to all the missionaries talk about the old town, went to a concert that night: The Midway, UT Hand-Bell Ringers! Huh? Didn't I just leave Utah two days ago? Didn't get any sleep that night, too hot and my mom snored all night long. Next day, drove to see Carthage Jail. Sat right on the window sill that the prophet jumped from when he was killed, it was a sad place. Drove through Indiana, thought of Heather. Stopped at a hotel, made my mom get her own room... I could still hear her snoring through the wall! Slept better though once I turned on the AC. Drove to Ohio, got lost in Ohio, took us 45 minutes to get back to the right road, I was steaming mad at my mom for getting us lost in Ohio and drove like a crazy person for those 45 min back to the right freeway. Learned never to trust the GPS. Made it to Erie, PA, crashed on the bed, and went to sleep vowing to never drive that route again!!! I'm glad to have made it here and can't wait for you to all come for a visit!
